ASUU Gives An Update On Indefinite Strike, Plans To meet FG On Thursday

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), said they are ready to commence negotiations with the Federal Government to resolve the indefinite strike.
 The President of ASUU - Professor Biodun Ogunyemi disclosed this to newsmen in the nation's capital Abuja on Wednesday.

 Prof. Ogunyemi also said that meeting with the Federal Government delegation has been scheduled for Thursday, one o’clock at the instance of the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu.
  He said accordingly that, the N200 billion released by the Federal Government in September 2018 was not an issue but that N200 billion ought to have been released in October 2017 as part of the 2013 agreement.
 “It would be recalled that the Federal Government had agreed to inject N1.3 trillion to fund universities at N 220 billion yearly for five years.

Super Eagles Qualifies for AFCON

The Nigeria football team - Super Eagles, has qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) today after playing against their South African counter part at FNB Stadium Jo' bourg South Africa today.
   The match which ended in a 1 - 1 draw, helped the Nigerian team to qualify for the cup. The first goal happened as an own goal from the Bafana Bafana - South African team player - Bahle Mkhwanazi in the first half, and the South African team equalized in the 26th minute with a goal from Lebo Mothiba.
   And as a result the Super Eagles were able to win and qualify at the end or the match.
   Well done guys, thumbs up.


Nigeria honourable Minister of Transportation Mr. Rotimi Amaechi was seen having a conversation and interacting with the passengers in a commercial boat at CMS en-route Apapa for Federal Ministry of Transportation Management meeting in Lagos state.
  Mr. Amaechi was in Apapa over the weekend to inspect the the passage of the railway construction which will cut across the sea port to other locations across the state.

My Wife's Unrelenting Pressure Forced Me into Robbery - Suspect.

A 38 year old suspect Ibrahim Kazeem has his wife constant demand for money to blame for his decision to go into robbery.    According to TheNation, Kazeem, the leader of a four-man robbery  gang, specializes in beating up his victims after robbing them of their possessions, was arrested recently in Lagos State.

  In an interview, he narrated: “I am the first child of my parents, who are now late. One of my brothers is a 500 level Industrial Chemistry student in one of the universities in Nigeria. .
  Another sibling of his is in secondary school, while two others are learning handiwork here in Lagos; I am the one taking care of them. My problems started when I married my wife. She gave me children, but she did not obey me. .
