Nigerian Lifestyle Won't Return As Usual After Coronavirus - NCDC DG

The director-general, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, has stated that Nigerians life won’t return to previous routine after COVID-19.

This was made known by Dr Ihekweazu on a radio program in Lagos on Monday, April 20.

Also, he added that a reciprocate of the pre-COVID manners after the current restrictions could lead to a revival of the viral outbreak.

He cautioned school owners and business owners on the need to follow the social distance protocol after this restrictions.

 “If I were any small or big business or anything that involves interaction, I will be carefully thinking about my business model and how to adjust them to some extent.

“If I were managing a school, I will think about my break period. Do I really want to have one break period where I unleash the entire school population onto the playground? Or do I want to have a standard break period where you allow a few people out at hourly interval?

Kano State Governor, Ganduje Sacks Commissioner for celebrating Abba Kyari death.

Umar Ganduje (Governor Kano State) has fired the state’s Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr Mu’azu Magaji, for his uncouth remark on the death of the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari.

This announcement was made public by the Director-General, Media and Communications, Kano State Government, Salihu Yakasai, through  his official twitter handle(@Dawisu).

The tweet reads “H.E @GovUmarGanduje has relieved the appointment of the commissioner of Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Mu’azu Magaji with immediate effect following his unguarded utterances against the person of the late Chief of Staff to the President, Malam Abba Kyari"


Updates crib earlier reported today the  death of Abba Kyari on Friday who was also buried islamically today.

COVID-19 Update: 51 New Cases Recorded Again in an African Country.

As these Corona virus pandemic keeps ravaging one of the affected countries, Nigeria has recorded 51 new cases of the novel coronavirus, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).


 In a post on their official twitter page on Friday April 17, the NCDC reported thirty-two cases in Lagos, six in Kano, five in Kwara, two each in the Federal Capital Territory and Oyo, and one each in Ogun and Ekiti.


 This brings the total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Nigeria to 493, discharged cases 159, and Deaths 17 respectively.

COVID-19 Update: NIGERIA PRESIDENT CHIEF OF STAFF IS DEAD.

The Nigerian President - President Muhammadu Buhari chief of staff, Mallam Abba Kyari is dead.

  His death was announced by the spokesman of the president, Femi Adesina on popular social media platform, twitter.




 Mallam Abba Kyari died of complications from the dreaded coronavirus pandemic across the world.

The deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19 and had been receiving treatment an unknown location.

But he died on Friday, April 17, according to a statement by the presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina.

 The presidency has announced the death of the chief of staff to the president, Mallam Abba Kyari.

  Femi Adesina went on to say funeral arrangements will be announced shortly.

  There have been rumours that the president's right-hand man was receiving treatment somewhere in Lagos part of the Country.

When asked recently, the Lagos state commissioner for health, Akin Abayomi said that Kyari is recuperating and seems well and happy.

Covid-19: FG Cautions Dino Melaye Over Spread of Fake News.

The federal government has rebuked former senator Dino Melaye for spreading false news on social media.

The presidency has cautioned former Senator, Dino Melaye, for spreading a stale video to manipulate Nigerians and wantoly critizise the government in power.

This was made known by the president personal assistance on media and publicity, Bashir Ahmad today April 16 on his official Twitter handle, @BashirAhmaad.

He rubuked him not to castigate unnecessary fears in the minds of fellow Nigerians during this emergency time.

Bashir Ahmaad tweet reads "#FakeNewsAlert; Sen Dino Melaye, a former member of @NGRSenate, with over 1 million followers sharing a fake news, an old video recorded last year to make a point that will create more fear among Nigerians at a time of national emergency. Arsenal have communicated to there players on the need to take a pay cut due to the hindrance on financial income caused by Covid-19 pandemic.
However, Arsenal players have disapproved this appeal to cut-off a percentage of there wage bill during this pandemic should football not continue this season or remaining matches played indoors.
Meanwhile, the club’s hierarchy and the players have been in several discussion to secure a better position over the past weeks. Also, Several options have been considered, but none has been approved.
Likewise, the idea of a 12.5% wage cut has been tabled to the players for a year should footballing activities not return to normal.

COVID-19: Google and Apple set to launch a joint contact-tracing system for iOS and Android.

The two big companies in tech, Google and Apple have unveiled a joint initiative on Friday to develop a coronavirus smartphone “contact tracing” tool that would alert users when they have close contact with an infected person.

The joint initiative would allow applications enabling smartphones powered by Apple software and Google-backed Android operating system to share information with a joint “opt in system” using the Bluetooth wireless technology.

The move has brought together the largest duo in mobile operating systems in order to use smartphone location technology to track and prospectivelg contain the widespread of this pandemic.

In an official statement issued by both companies: “All of us at Apple and Google believe there has never been a more important moment to work together to solve one of the world’s most pressing problems”
